Past student, Tobias Menzies has landed the highly sought after role of Prince Philip in the hugely successfully Netflix series The Crown.
Tobias is taking over the role from Matt Smith and will portray the Duke of Edinburgh from the 1960s to 1980s. He stars alongside Olivia Coleman as Elizabeth II.
After studying on Year Out Drama, Tobias gained a place at a top drama school, subsequently he commented “I feel I learnt more during my time in Stratford than I did in three years at drama school.”

Never fear! You will be able to see Tobias in the new adaptation of King Lear on Monday 28th May, where Tobias will be playing Duke of Cornwall, alongside Anthony Hopkins and Emma Thompson.
